Candle Care

The care of your candle is very important in how your candle burns and smells.

We use self trimming cotton wicks, so you do not need to initially trim the wicks.

If the wick creates a mushroom top, gently blow out the candle, let the candle cool and then pick the mushroom head off with a tissue and relight.

Try to maintain a ¼ inch length. You do not want to have any trimmings or debris (matches) fall into your melted oil.

If you trim your wicks too short, it will cause your candle to drown out. If this happens, you will need to remove some of the soy from the jar.

Our candles have a great memory. The first burn of your new candle is important. Burn your candle 1 hour for every inch in diameter of the jar (large jar = 4 hours or more).

You must also allow the your candle to totally melt from side to side, and to a depth of no less then a ¼ of an inch for an even burn and best burn time. Any less then what is recommended, you may encounter a buildup of soy along the outer walls of the jar which will shorten the life of your candle, and possibly cause the wicks to drown out. This condition is easy to recognize and will not be considered a defect in the candle.

We recommend that you use butane lighters to light your candles instead of matches. If you do use matches, do not let the particles of the match fall into oil, this could cause your candle to soot.

Keep your candle away from drafts to prevent the flame from smoking. Drafts will cause your candle to burn unevenly and may present a fire hazard.

Always burn candles on a protected, non-combustible, heat-resistant surface.

To prevent heat damage or fire, discontinue the use of your candle when only ½ of an inch of soy remains in the bottom of the jar.

Do not move your candle while it is burning or it is in liquid form. Jars can become very hot during the burning process.

Keep your burning candle out of reach from children and pets.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Enjoy your candles in a safe place!
